Position: Lean Six Sigma Consultant / Black Belt - Public Sector (Washington, D.C. area)

POSITION SUMMARY: Provide Lean Six Sigma consulting and training services for Department of Defense Agency Level client.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

• Deliver Lean Six Sigma training in a classroom environment and facilitate hands-on exercises and simulations

• Provide staff consulting on CPI with a Joint Operations Staff with emphasis on Logistics Planning and execution

• Provide CPI planning and consultation and integration in the areas of Joint Service Logistics and Joint Operations

• Support Master Black Belts in Black Belt and Green Belt course instruction

• Provide LSS subject matter expertise to serve as project facilitators for CPI activities and projects

• Lead project teams to complete Lean Six Sigma projects in a DOD Agency that have Flag level involvement

• Provide individual mentoring and coaching to Lean Six Sigma practitioners

• Black Belts may be assigned to support specific locations to advance the local CPI practices

• Provide consultative support and best practice guidance on the deployment of CPI tools and methodologies across large organizations

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3+ years experience as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt

• 3+ years experience in a high level DoD Agency as part of a lettered staff

• Experience leading multiple LSS/CPI projects simultaneously, and providing mentoring and coaching to newly trained Black Belts and Green Belts

• Demonstrated mastery and application of Lean Six Sigma and Theory of Constraints principles, tools and methodologies during DMAIC projects, Rapid Improvement Events, and Value Stream Analyses

• Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, and change management skills

• Exceptional computer skills including operation of Microsoft Office and Minitab

• Prior service experience as an officer on a Joint Staff in the grade O-4 and above

• College degree (BS/BA)

• Travel will be approximately 30%

• Has held at least a DOD Secret Security Clearance

• Residence in the Northern Virginia/Washington DC area

PREFERRED:

• Graduate degree (MBA/MS)

• Graduate of the Armed Forces Staff College or service MEL-4 equivalent

• Prior experience working as part of the Department of the Army, Department of the Air Force or Department of the Navy Staff

• Experience with LSS deployment in government industries

NOTES:

Corporate offices are located in New Orleans, LA and Red Bank, NJ. Candidate can be located anywhere in the contiguous 48 states. Position may require relocation. Primary place of performance is located in the Washington DC area.
